Continuous Carbonization Furnace

Machine Introduction

Continuous carbonization furnace is a kind of continuous carbonization machine which integrates rotary drum carbonization furnace and combustible gas recycling unit into one body. Biomass feedstock, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, and diesel oil are typically used as heat sources for carbonization furnaces.

Suitable raw materials

Its applicable raw materials fall into three categories.

  • Biomass raw materials, mainly plant shells with a diameter of less than 3cm, such as coconut shells, rice husks, peanut shells, wood chips, palm shells, etc.
  • Municipal or industrial sewage sludge; after carbonization, the pollutants in the sludge are treated.
  • Electronic waste; after carbonization, the plastic and other components on the surface of the electronic waste are burned off.

Working principle

First, a burner ignites a heat source (usually biomass raw materials, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, or diesel) to heat the carbonization drum. The heated material is gradually fed into the drum at 200-300℃, where it is gradually carbonized. After carbonization, the material is cooled and discharged through a water-cooled charcoal outlet.

The pyrolysis gas generated during carbonization is split into two streams via pipelines: one stream is directly drawn into the furnace by an induced draft fan and sent for combustion and heating; the other stream, containing excess flue gas, is switched to a cooling pipeline for cooling, settling, and separation of tar, wood vinegar, and dust impurities. The remaining waste gas is then drawn into the pipeline by an induced draft fan for combustion treatment, ultimately completing the waste gas purification process.

Once there is sufficient combustible gas generated from the pyrolysis of the raw material for combustion, the burner is gradually reduced and shut off, ultimately achieving self-sufficiency in the carbonization process.
